The Depot Bar Coins “The Gavin Drop” Cocktail
Source & Story at: http://sfist.com
By Leanne Maxwell in Food on April 26, 2009 12:57 PM
The Chronicle’s Carla Marinucci reports from this weekend’s Democratic Convention in Sacramento that area gay bars were packed with Newsom supporters who couldn’t get passes to his street party, which was in their neighborhood. (Apparently, the crowd was expected to be at 3,000, but there were reportedly only 400 people there a half an hour before the event.) The Depot, which was located right near the stage, was serving up $5 “Gavin Drops,” which feature blue curacao, simple syrup, sweet and sour, and Smirnoff melon because “he’s a honey.” Sounds like hangover material to us. We wonder if Gav has tried one. Apparently, The Depot patrons eventually crashed the party, which we suspect upped the fun level quite a bit.
